Interesting old stories

This is a nice collection of stories. There is a degree of torment & depression in many of the tales, but you just need to think about the era when they were written & appreciate how our lives have changed. It's hard to think about reading these to our young children. I prefer more up-beat stories with happy endings. He is a cherished author of yesteryear. Just as everyone should read Dickens for the historical value, everyone should read these stories just the same.

He elegantly ridiculed the hypocrisy, greed and other human vices. And with unparalleled beauty showed beautiful soul. His fairy-tale world full of experiences, harmony and sincere kindness.
