About the Author

Nyla R. Branscombe is Professor of Psychology at University of Kansas. She received her B.A. from York University in Toronto, M.A. from the University of Western Ontario, and Ph.D. in 1986 from Purdue University. She has served as Associate Editor for Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, British Journal of Social Psychology, and Group Processes and Intergroup Relations. In 2015 she received the University of Kansas Byron A Alexander Graduate Mentor Award.

Professor Branscombe has published more than 140 articles and chapters, has been twice co-recipient of the Otto Kleinberg prize for research on Intercultural and International Relations, and twice the co-recipient Society of Personality and Social Psychology Publication Award. She co-edited the 2004 volume Collective Guilt: International Perspectives, published by Cambridge University Press, the 2007 volume Commemorating Brown: The Social Psychology of Racism and Discrimination, published by the American Psychological Association, the 2010 volume Rediscovering Social Identity, published by Psychology Press, the 2013 volume Handbook of Gender and Psychology, published by Sage, and the 2015 volume Psychology of Change: Life Contexts, Experiences, and Identities.

Professor Branscombe's current research addresses a variety of issues concerning Intergroup Relations from a Social Identity perspective. How people think about groups that have a history of victimization, when and why privileged groups may feel collective guilt for their past harm doing, and the consequences of experiencing discrimination for psychological well-being have been key topics investigated. She gratefully acknowledges ongoing research support from the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research: Social Interactions, Identity and Well-Being Program.

Robert A. Baron is Regents Professor and Spears Professor of Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University. He received his PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Iowa (1968). He has held faculty appointments at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Purdue University, the Universities of Minnesota, Texas, South Carolina, Washington, Princeton University, and Oxford University. From 1979-1981 he was the Program Director for Social and Developmental Psychology at NSF. In 2001 he was appointed as a Visiting Senior Research Fellow by the French Ministry of Research (Universite de Toulouse).

Professor Baron is a Fellow of APA and a Charter Fellow of APS. He has published more than 140 articles and 45 chapters, and is the author or co-author of 49 books in Psychology and Management. He serves on the boards of several major journals, and has received numerous awards for his research (e.g., “Thought Leader” award, Entrepreneurship Division, Academy of Management, 2009 the Grief award, for the most highly cited paper in the field of Entrepreneursip). He holds three U.S. patents and was founder and CEO of IEP, Inc. (1993-2000).

His current research interests focus on applying the findings and principles of social psychology to the field of entrepreneurship, where he has studied such topics as the role of perception in opportunity recognition, how entrepreneurs’ social skills influence their success, and the role of positive affect in entrepreneurship.

The need of a new Hebrew and English Lexicon of the Old Testament has been so long felt that no elaborate explanation of the appearance of the present work seems called for. Wilhelm Gesenius, the father of modern Hebrew Lexicography, died in 1842. His Lexicon Manual Hebraicum et Chaldaicum in V. T. Libros, representing a much riper stage of his lexicographical work than his earlier Hebrew dictionaries, was published in 1833.

A classic standard

This dictionary is an old standard, and still very helpful. It is organized by roots. This means that all words are listed under the consonantal root (usually three consonants), regardless of what additional consonants or vowels have been added at the beginning or elsewhere. When I was a beginner in Hebrew, I found this system difficult to follow. However, with practice I started to get used to which roots lost their first consonant in derived or conjugated forms, and which ones had unstable second and third consonants. Now I can use this dictionary without much difficulty.

If you are a beginner in Hebrew, this dictionary is definitely a good one to plan to get, but you would be better served initially by A Concise Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament. This dictionary organizes words alphabetically rather than by roots, a feature which saves beginners a lot of frustration. As you progress, you should also consider getting a much more recent comprehensive lexicon of Biblical Hebrew, The Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament. This dictionary is based on much more recent scholarship that Brown-Driver-Briggs, but it is considerably more expensive, so BDB is an economical choice for good, if not cutting edge, scholarship. In case it matters to you, the edition I am reviewing here is the one without Strong's numbers. I have no interest in Strong's numbers, but if you find them helpful, take a look at this edition of BDB: Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew and English Lexicon.

A wonderful edition of a classic lexicon

This is a great Hebrew lexicon with detailed entries with references to the other semitic languages such as Aramaic, Arabic, Syriac, and Ethiopic. In fact, it even has a biblical Aramaic lexicon as an appendix.

About the Author
In 2006 Christ “rhymes with wrist” John Otto was called by God to begin writing, leading worship, and hanging out in a local coffee shop. His adventure, and the people who joined him, eventually took the name Belonging House. Today after lots of coffee, five books, and thousands of emails, Belonging House has become an international "house" for creative culture shapers. Christ Otto holds degrees from Houghton College and Asbury Theological Seminary. Since 1986 he has worked in a variety of media as a freelance artist including decoupage, faux finishing, mural work, sign painting, commercial and retail design, and catering and pastry. He is a classically trained tenor and vocal coach. Through it all he has learned to be a son, and bring others into a relationship with God.

Finally! Someone spiritual who knows how to transform everyday environments

Let me say that I read this book twice -- once to see what it said, and once to take notes. It is that good.

It was a little hard to get through the beginning of the book but once Mr. Otto hit his stride in writing, the book flowed well. Why the five stars then? Because there is a lot of good material packed in here. I had to think through several things that were stated. Also I love it when an author can share material from a new perspective. Kudos on both counts.

Mr Otto is an artist who is deeply connected to the church culture so this book is slanted toward fellow artists and creative types. I think the things that are revealed here can also apply to entrepreneurs and business types. For instance, the book states that "Bezalel was called out, filled with the Holy Spirit, and then translated that inner experience into multisensory space others could experience." That statement could easily be said about many entrepreneurs. In fact, as Mr. Otto states, craftmanship -- a word used to describe one of the qualities that Bezalel possessed -- is a word which relates to keeping a business. In other words "business sense." It refers to a gift of oversight and leadership.

"Bezalel was empowered by the Holy Spirit to be like a Renaissance Master Craftsman running a studio." Anyone running a modern enterprise will recognize how similar that is to their work environment.

There are many details in this book about the importance of this Bible character and the details of his name and what he did to create an atmosphere for people to come into an experience of God. His name means "image of God' and Mr. Otto comes to an intriguing conclusion about who Bezalel really was. Buy the book if you want to know. It is NOT something you would have thought of on your own.

Good practical tips

This book is a quick read but contains nuggets of practical tips on visualizing and exercises in the manifesting process. He gives great tips about using all your senses to visualize and feel your desire, and also has tips about how to become open to receiving. He also emphasizes how important it is to actually spend time doing these exercises every day as opposed to just reading about them, the same way a body builder needs to spend some time every day doing exercises to accomplish his goal. I have read many books including The Secret, Joseph Murphy, Wayne Dyer, and this author did give some very good practical advice not mentioned in these other books.

Forget the millions. a better life will be created and the rest will follow.

I don't usually give 5 stars but this is one that truly deserves them. Why? The author kicks out all the fluff and gets straight to the point. The title actually hides the biggest message that is inside the book, that you can manifest anything you want, not just lottery winnings.

This is one of those books that really explains the techniques you REALLY need to get results.

If you have watched 'The Secret' and was left wondering, What now? Then this is the book to give you the answers to those unanswered questions. The film was a great plug for all the 'Law of Attraction' courses that followed. You don't need them.

This short book has the answers and my hat off to the author for making it crystal clear and easy to follow.

It may seem like a cliche, but things have been happening seen changing my attitude to a more positive and out going one. By simply doing what the book outlines you will get results and hopefully your dreams.

Give it a try. It would be a shame if when you die, your dreams die with you. What have you got to lose?

A fantastic look at metaphysical wisdom

This book is fantastic! Eddie writes a serious yet very readable and entertaining look at metaphysics, and how we can manifest our desires and goals. He mentions many of my favorite authors, including Neville Goddard and Dr. Joseph Murphy, emphasizing the very best of their beliefs. Eddie also explains the importance of visualization and vibrational energy. I love this book because of it's warmth and authenticity. Here are a few words of wisdom shared by Eddie:
"A change in consciousness results in a change in physical conditions. We have at our command the most powerful tool known to mankind---our mind. The power within our minds can heal us, prosper us, attract ideal circumstances.....the power of your thoughts is creative energy in its finest and most dynamic form"
I love how Eddie stresses the importance of our vibrations, explaining that we attract through our feelings rather than our words. He says: "There is no separation between humans and the creative power of the universe. We are all connected at the deepest level of humanity......."
