Page 80 - second paragraph discussing going from Privileged to Global Config:

"Note that we've used the configure terminal command from privileged exec mode to enter the global configuration mode. The prompt has changed from > to (config)".

Privileged prompt is the hashtag (#).

The people that gave this book all the stars could NOT have read the book in its entirety or had a pretty weak understanding themselves. I'm on page 80 and found at least 7 things wrong, from the way he explains certain things to just poor sentence structure that, if you didn't already have a good general knowledge of CISCO, would confuse the heck out of someone still learning.

The whole point of an in-expensive "quick reference" book is simply to re-enforce the information you've learned in lab and classroom settings, but in a more down-to-earth manner. Crap books like this are the kind of things that make learners go "This book contradicts what my months of labs and studying convey". CISCO certs are hard enough as it is.

Stressing the dynamism and constant change in native cultures while showing no loss of Indian identity, Axtell effectively argues that the colonial Southeast cannot be fully understood without paying particular attention to its native inhabitants before their large-scale removal in the 1830s.

Axtell begins by treating the irruption in native life of several Spanish entradas in the sixteenth century, most notably and destructively Hernando de Soto's, and the rapid decline of the great Mississippian societies in their wake. He then relates the rise and fall of the Franciscan missions in Florida to the aggressive advent of English settlement in Virginia and the Carolinas in the seventeenth century. Finally, he traces the largely symbiotic relations among the South Carolina English, the Louisiana French, and their native trading partners in the eighteenth-century deerskin business, and the growing dependence of the Indians on their white neighbors for necessities as well as conveniences and luxuries.

Focusing on the primary context of interaction between natives and newcomers in each century -- warfare, missions, and trade -- and drawing upon a wide range of ethnohistorical sources, including written, oral, archaeological, linguistic, and artistic ones, Axtell gives a rich sense of the variety and complexity of Indian-white interactions and a clear interpretative matrix by which to assimilate the details.

With The Indians' New South, James Axtell presents a brief, but intricate analysis of the impact imposed on Native culture by European contact. The Indians' New South is the product of the Walter Lynwood Fleming Lectures in Southern History at Louisiana State University. As such, it is relatively short (about 70 pages of story), but one should not expect a quick read. Each sentence is a comprehensive concept and is likely to provoke substantial reflection by the reader.

Axtell examines evolution of Native life during colonial development of the lands of the Creeks, Cherokee, et al. I honestly haven't made it through the the entire book yet but SO HELPFUL AND TOTALLY RECOMMENDED. My sister told me to read it and it has really helped my husband and I understand each other a LOT better. It's such a good thing to read wth your spouse and opens up so many much needed discussions. Serious props to this woman for writing this.

Very insightful. I had a therapist recommend this to me as a single adult, and it has been a key in overcoming some barriers. I liked the respectful dialogue, and tools to apply. I would recommend this book as a must read for husband and wives, engaged couples, and any woman looking to find peace and understanding in her divine nature as a woman.

Great book. Wish I had read it before getting married 25 years ago. In the Christian Society books on intimacy are so vague that they are practically useless, so you get ones outside of beliefs that are so descriptive that they too are useless. This book is just the perfect combination of all. Going to share it with my kids who are marrying age.

Pete Morgan has been a serving police officer for over 32 years. He was a hostage negotiator for over 24 years and unit Chief for more than 12 years. He has lectured widely on negotiation related matters and has spoken at a number of international conferences. Peter is also an Honorary Associate Fellow with the Hong Kong Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention (CSRP).

This book is over generalized fluff. Of no consequence to a serious reader. You are prepared to read a few chapters leading up to the good stuff, but the good stuff never comes! Completely worthless to me!

About the Author
Philip Watson studied Chinese at Oxford and London, worked in the Painting and Calligraphy department of the National Palace Museum in Taiwan, and was briefly a lecturer in Chinese at Edinburgh University, before joining the British diplomatic service. His career, which included postings in Beijing and Hong Kong, culminated in responsibility for Asia, the Americas and Australasia. He was appointed CMG in the Queen's Birthday Honours of 1999. Watson's current interest is translation from Classical Chinese of the eleventh and twelfth centuries.

Interesting travel diary of a 12th century poet

This is a very interesting diary of a journey undertaken between July to Dec 1170. The famous poet Lu You was assigned to take up an administrative post in Sichuan. So he set off from his home near Shanghai for this 1800-mile journey. He used the Grand Canal and the Yangzi river. Along the way he kept a detailed diary with observations of famous sights and the persons he met.The book is illustrated with many beautiful photographs and a vivid commentary.

Great travel diary from China's ancient past

This book is very readable, and is presented beautifully with gorgeous, modern-day pictures of places which the author travelled to. Gives a wonderful insight into Song dynasty China.

Classy, Sassy, and Sick

Yes, I bought this because of the title, and most likely so will the rest of you, but that's what a good title can do for a book. Fair warning though, if you think this is going to be some kind of popcorn munching Sharknado gimmick, think again. The story itself is both extremely disturbing and fairly complex despite the book's short length, the imagery is well crafted and graphic, and the multi-layered approach to the narrative is wild and even sophisticated in its execution. In the span of five pages you can meet a new character, get enough development to care about what happens to them, then witness their gruesome end...this is a short book and totally worth the money, its not about word count, its about making the words count, and this book does it in spades, or perhaps harpoons.

Unexpectedly riveting

I’ll admit, when I first held the book in my hand, I was startled at the title and a little dubious at the idea of sharks raining down on cities. Sharknado, anyone?

Luckily, the author had something very different in mind. In that inimitable style of his, a sort of ADHD cross between Faulkner and Stephen King, Carr draws us into a timeless, worn-out world (vaguely post-apocalyptic in flavor, like his previous Edie and the Low-Hung Hands or the Dark Tower series). The protagonist, Crick, is a former magician who lost his family to a school of vicious sharks that appeared mysteriously after a torrential rain.

Crick, who has learned how to kill the eldritch flying killers, now travels from town to town on his mule-driven cart, trying to warn the inhabitants that the [expletive deleted] sharks are on their way. In one particular town he is arrested and finds himself helpless to stop the devastation that will soon rain down. Not for the faint of heart, but very rewarding to those who appreciate powerful, dark, almost biblical explorations of untrammeled, inhuman wrath.

Savage. Bizarre. Bizarrely savage.

A tattooed stranger walks into a wilderness town with a mule and cart, carrying harpoons, carrying shark jaws and carrying a warning. A warning of a coming storm and a coming terror. He tells his tale as juggles skulls, the skulls of his family. His family who were eaten by the Motherf'ing Sharks, despite being on land and nowhere near the ocean. The rains came, and with the rains came the puddles, and with the puddles came the Motherf'ing Sharks.

Understandably the townsfolk treat this story with a degree of skepticism, but it’s not long before it starts to rain…

Look at that cover. Look at the blood spatter. Look at the cactus and the hazy mountains, and look at those crazy flying Motherf'ing Sharks.

Savage. Bizarre. Bizarrely savage.

The cover does not disappoint and it does not lie. This story is weird, frightening, and funny all at once.

Good Advice

Ignore your doubts, and score a new idea! I cannot say whether or not this book has or has not help me, because I am still not in a relationship, but I must say that the book get you thinking about your past and it helps you to understand why bad things happened and to move on from the past and look forward to a new start.

Just not that good

This book is mostly a copy of common advice given in pickup books that are far better. If you've read some of the really poplar ones: Mystery Method, Bang, Models..... This book will be a waste.

I knocked down one star for having zero originality, and being overly long. The book should have been under a hundred pages.

Another star is knocked down for the fact that the title is misleading. Your not using some new method of ignoring tactics. The author basically tells you to ignore your fear, ignore your neediness, ignore her $#!t tests, etc... You can tactfully ignore her tests, but telling you to ignore your emotions is for the most part not possible. Read Models by Mark Manson if you want to actually deal with why you feel the way you do.

And finally another star for simply being a bad book and wasting my time&money. I threw the book away. There really are far better. Those being MM, Bang(kinda), Models............ Hell, the Dicarlo Escalation ladder is better than this.

Robs book is the nuts

Robby the author of this book is a legend! I enjoyed reading every page. I bought this on iPhone and got to say it made me feel a bit better after a break up already. This book as I read in previous review is about learning your self it's a 5 star from me and it has links and email advice. I was bit worried about emailing and rob lays the law down but when u act weak u need to be strong in the mind body and soul to ever stop drowning in your sorrows and his email advice really helps. End of the day men an woman are different but that's the reason life and relationships are so fun even when they go sour. My advice to people would be chill and be happy with yourself because we all had ups and downs. Try stay up forget the down. Cheers Jack.
